My Favorite Salmon Recipe
Our family has enjoyed fresh salmon for years. When I met my husband his only connection with salmon was farm-raised, store-bought, and re-frozen fish. So, it’s no surprise that when I told him I was making Salmon for dinner that his first reaction was “No thanks.” I told him to give me a chance to win him over, and sure enough, this recipe turned him into a believer.
It is SO easy and quick! We hope you enjoy this easy meal!
1/3 c. honey, we like to use locally sourced honey
1 tbsp. Coarse Ground Black Pepper
3 tbsp.extra-virgin olive oil, divided
4 6-oz. salmon fillets, patted dry with a paper towel
1 tsp. Garlic Salt
1 lemon, sliced into rounds (optional)
We prefer to BBQ our salmon, but if this is not an option you may also low-broil using the same ingredients.-Pre-Heat BBQ grill to Med-High Heat
Step 1
In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, black pepper, garlic salt, and 2 tbsp. olive oil.Step 2
Once your grill is ready (medium-high heat) brush the grill grate (to prevent sticking) with the remaining olive oil. Add salmon to grill skin-side DOWN and lightly season with salt and pepper. Cook salmon until deeply golden, about 6 minutes, and add the honey mixture to the top of the salmon. Continue cooking until salmon begins to ‘split' and has turned to a pink color or 120 degrees with a meat thermometer.
Step 3
Garnish with sliced lemon and serve.
Step 4
ENJOY!
